Paraboot.

Paraboot is a French footwear brand built on tradition, function and timeless craft. Although its roots reach back to the late 19th century in Izeaux, a small village at the foot of the Alps, the Paraboot name was registered by Rémy Richard in 1927. The name combines “Para”, referencing the Amazonian port where latex was exported from, with “boot”, inspired by the style of shoe Richard discovered in the United States.

Paraboot has always focused on bringing out the beauty of what is useful, simple and enduring. The brand pays tribute to traditional artisanship, using carefully selected materials and construction methods that have been refined over generations. Rather than chasing fashion, Paraboot creates footwear with lasting character, designed to feel practical, distinctive and relevant year after year.

The brand remains faithful to traditional hand-sewn techniques, particularly Goodyear and Norwegian welted construction. These methods connect the upper, intermediary sole and outsole with a strong leather welt, creating shoes with excellent structure, durability and long-term wearability. Paraboot is especially known for its expertise in Norwegian construction, recognised by its visible stitching and robust, purposeful finish.

Our Paraboot collection at Jeanstore brings together premium footwear with genuine French heritage and unmistakable character. Expect sturdy leathers, practical soles, hand-sewn details and silhouettes that work naturally with denim, chinos, workwear layers and smarter casual outfits. Whether you are looking for dependable everyday shoes or a pair with true artisan construction, Paraboot offers footwear with substance, history and lasting style.

Paraboot at Jeanstore

Paraboot is a brand with deep roots in French shoemaking, tracing its origins back to the late 19th century in Izeaux, a small village at the foot of the Alps. The Paraboot name was officially registered by Rémy Richard in 1927, drawing on “Para”, the Amazonian port from which latex was exported, and “boot”, inspired by a style of shoe he had discovered in the United States. That blend of heritage, practicality and curiosity still sits at the heart of the brand today, shaping footwear that feels timeless, purposeful and built with real integrity.

What sets Paraboot apart is its enduring commitment to traditional craftsmanship and exceptional materials. The brand remains faithful to hand-sewn construction methods, with a particular reputation for Goodyear and Norwegian welted shoes. Paraboot is especially renowned for Norwegian construction, a method that uses visible stitching and a robust layered build to create footwear with outstanding durability and character. Our Paraboot collection brings together shoes made with a focus on tradition, utility and understated elegance, offering enduring styles that honour generations of skilled craftsmanship while remaining as relevant and wearable as ever.
