Pittari.

Pittari at Jeanstore brings together British knitwear, quality natural yarns and a wealth of experience in clothing, design and manufacturing. Founded in 2023 by Dean and Lisa Batty, the brand takes its name from the Japanese word ‘Pittari’, with meanings associated with being cosy, comfortable and close fitting, a reflection of the brand’s approach to knitwear.

Bridging heritage clothing and contemporary style, Pittari places particular importance on quality materials, traditional character and everyday wearability. Dean and Lisa bring many years of clothing industry experience to the brand, while Pittari’s own small factories allow the manufacturing process to be closely considered and garments to be carefully produced and hand finished.

Natural fibres sit at the heart of the collection. Pittari works exclusively with British and Irish yarns, including super-soft Yorkshire lambswool, Irish Donegal yarn, wool and silk blends and environmentally conscious undyed wool. These carefully selected materials provide warmth, breathability, durability and distinctive texture, while wool itself is naturally renewable and biodegradable.

Pittari also works with natural indigo-dyed cotton yarn and dyes its own cotton colours, bringing the same attention to material and craftsmanship across the seasons.

The Pittari collection at Jeanstore reflects a straightforward approach to quality: excellent natural fibres, skilled manufacturing and timeless design. Comfortable, understated and made with longevity in mind, Pittari offers British knitwear with genuine character and a strong appreciation for the enduring qualities of well-made clothing.

Pittari at Jeanstore

Pittari at Jeanstore represents a thoughtful approach to British knitwear, combining traditional materials with decades of experience in clothing, design and manufacturing. Founded in 2023 by Dean and Lisa Batty, the brand reflects their shared appreciation for Japanese culture as well as their long-standing knowledge of the fashion and heritage clothing industries.

The name Pittari comes from a Japanese word associated with being cosy, comfortable and close fitting, perfectly reflecting the brand’s emphasis on natural materials, wearability and considered design. Rather than following short-lived trends, Pittari focuses on creating knitwear with a timeless character and a strong sense of quality.

British and Irish yarns sit at the heart of the collection, including super-soft Yorkshire lambswool, Irish Donegal yarn, wool and silk blends, natural undyed wool and carefully developed cotton yarns. Pittari’s own small factories allow the brand to remain closely involved in production, with garments carefully made and hand finished.

Natural fibres are central to Pittari’s identity, valued for their warmth, breathability, durability and long-term comfort. The use of natural indigo-dyed cotton and individually developed cotton colours also brings a distinctive seasonal character to the range.

Pittari at Jeanstore is about honest materials, skilled manufacturing and understated design, offering British knitwear with genuine depth, texture and lasting appeal.
