Description
The Briac is a true Paraboot icon — a rugged yet refined derby that first appeared over 30 years ago and became a defining style of the 1990s. Nicknamed the “4x4 derby” for its robust build and thick beading around the ankle, this reissued version faithfully revives the model’s bold, utilitarian character. Crafted in smooth cowhide leather, it features a piped seam, three-eyelet design and Blake-stitched construction with a midsole, offering durability and comfort in equal measure. The notched Jannu sole provides excellent grip and stability, while leather laces in a rich coffee hue add a finishing touch of understated sophistication.

Although the brand was founded in the late 19th century in Izeaux, a small village at the foot of the Alps, Rémy Richard registered the Paraboot name in 1927. The name comes from “Para” – a port in Amazonia, where the latex was exported from, and “boot” – the interesting new shoe he had discovered in the United States.
