The story began in 1949, when Mitsugu Tanabe left his day job to follow his passion for baseball and founded the Tanabe Meriyasu factory in Fukui, Japan. Inspired by the stirrup stockings worn by visiting American baseball teams after the war, Tanabe set out to create baseball stockings of exceptional quality, even developing new machines to achieve a better result.

That commitment to detail quickly earned Tanabe Meriyasu a reputation for craftsmanship, and the factory went on to supply the official training wear for the Japanese Olympic team in 1964. The Jackman brand as it exists today is the evolution of that original vision, carrying the same focus on durability, comfort and beautifully made everyday sportswear.

Each Jackman piece is still crafted in the original factory, where vintage machines continue to play an important role in production. What is your returns policy?

You can return your order within 30 days of delivery. We can offer a full refund, exchange or store credit.

Exchanges are free on all orders.

Refunds will incur a £2.99 charge towards the returns label, which will be deducted from the refund - with the exception of Jeanstore Unlimited members for whom refunds are also free. Standard delivery charges will also be refunded.

International returns will need to be returned at your own expense.

How long does delivery take?

We offer UK delivery via both Royal Mail and DPD. You will have three different speed delivery options available at checkout, each giving an estimated delivery date.

Next day delivery is available via DPD for orders placed before 3pm (excluding weekends and bank holidays.)

International delivery times vary - the delivery speed will be shown when you select your delivery country at checkout.

Do I pay tax and duties on international orders?

For international customers, UK VAT has removed from the prices you see on our website. After you enter your delivery address at checkout, all local taxes and duties will be added to the total and we pay these in advance for you.

This means there are no extra charges before delivery and no nasty surprises!
