Description

The Yuketen Angler Moc w/ Lug Sole is a reimagining of the moccasins worn by Maine’s freshwater fishermen in the 1950s and 60s. These anglers preferred secure-fitting shoes with a higher eyestay across the foot, a feature carried through to this modern version. Yuketen improves on the original design with enhanced vamp construction, added arch support, and a Vibram American-made lug sole that provides excellent grip and durability for both outdoor and everyday use.

Handcrafted in Maine, USA, each pair is made from Horween’s full-grain Buckaroo pull-up leather, tanned in Chicago for resilience, depth of colour, and natural character. The genuine moccasin construction ensures a moulded fit, with multiple pieces of leather hand-lasted and hand-stitched to follow the foot’s natural shape. A cinched vamp further secures the fit for comfort and stability.

Underfoot, eight layers of leather, rubber, and PU compounds build a dense and supportive base. Vegetable-tanned leather midsoles, composition rubber, and a steel shank provide structure and distribute weight evenly from heel to toe, reducing fatigue. Memory foam and Yuketen’s signature leather tucks adapt to the wearer’s foot over time, creating a personalised fit. Finished with a Vibram lug sole, these moccasins are built to balance traditional craftsmanship with modern functionality.
