Studio D’Artisan’s 5739 Amami Mud Dyed Short Sleeve Shirt in Brown is a richly textured summer shirt that brings traditional Japanese dyeing into an easy warm-weather silhouette. With its natural worn-in character and soft, lightweight feel, it has a relaxed everyday quality while still carrying the depth and craft-led detail Studio D’Artisan is known for.

Made from a cotton-linen canvas fabric, the cloth is carefully washed over an extended period to bring out a naturally wrinkled texture and comfortable broken-in handle. The shirt is dyed using Amami mud dyeing, a centuries-old technique that combines dye from the island’s native Techi tree with iron-rich mud formed from geological layers more than 1.5 million years old. Each garment is carefully dyed using natural materials, creating a colour with depth and warmth that artificial dyes cannot easily replicate. Natural nut buttons complete the finish.
