The Samurai Cotton Selvedge Denim Work Shirt is a masterclass in traditional craftsmanship and Japanese textile innovation. Made from 10oz Samurai Cotton selvedge denim, it uses the same uneven #10 yarn spinning method as Samurai’s renowned 17oz “Zero” denim. The result is a fabric rich in character — strong, slubby, and textured — with natural cotton impurities such as leaf and stem fibres intentionally left intact to highlight its organic authenticity.

Slow-woven on vintage power looms, this fabric develops a distinctive irregular surface and depth, while the natural brown-dyed selvedge edge evokes the earthy tones of Japan’s cotton fields. The shirt features asymmetric pockets inspired by vintage workwear and triple-stitched rolled seams throughout for long-lasting durability. Each section is sewn with a combination of thick and thin cotton threads, creating subtle visual variation and texture. Additional details include selvedge gussets and sleeve panels, nut buttons, and Samurai’s signature “Rising Sun” name tag and guarantee ticket.
