The Samurai Jeans SSS26-ATW Tropical Weather Shirt is a Japanese-made work shirt designed with warm-weather wear and long-term durability in mind. Built with practical workwear elements including hand warmer pockets and elbow patches, it combines a functional silhouette with the fabric depth and specialist construction expected from Samurai Jeans.

Crafted from tropical weather fabric, the cloth is inspired by military fabrics originally developed for tropical regions over half a century ago, then reworked using Japan’s own weaving technology. Similar to, but distinct from, a panama weave, the fabric uses slub yarn and a mesh-like texture for a breathable summer feel. Produced at Samurai’s Banshu factory, the fabric is woven using specialist gauge manipulation to improve breathability, while garment dyeing creates areas of varied colour depth, allowing a dot-like shadow pattern to stand out across the surface. Nut buttons and partial double stitching complete the sturdy, considered finish.
