The Samurai Jeans S552PX 15oz Kanoko Brown Jacket is a richly detailed Japanese denim jacket inspired by both military cloth and traditional Japanese symbolism. The name Kanoko, meaning baby deer, refers to a seasonal image long used in poetry to symbolise summer, with the deer also revered in Japan as a messenger from the gods. This gives the jacket a distinctive cultural story, matched by a fabric with deep heritage character.

Crafted in Japan from 15oz neppy 100% Texas cotton denim, the fabric takes inspiration from brown denim briefly used in early military garments when indigo dye was scarce. Samurai Jeans uses Slen dye, chosen for its history in old military garments and its ability to fade evenly into a natural tone. While the fading is more subtle than traditional indigo denim, the fabric will still develop crisp fade lines through rubbing and abrasion. Finished with Syogyo-Mujo jacquard pocket bags, iron pine buttons, copper rivets and an exclusive deer leather patch, this is a considered piece with remarkable depth.
