Description
This master-piece backpack-briefcase hybrid is built with the brand’s most advanced materials and technologies, combining urban practicality with technical durability. The body fabric is MasterteX-09™, a three-layer construction developed in collaboration with Cordura®. It passes the strict Cordura® Brand Fabric standards, woven for maximum resistance to abrasion, tearing, and slippage. A PU backing and L-vent® waterproof laminate are paired with a tricot nylon lining, creating a structure that is simultaneously tough, water-resistant, and breathable.
Additional reinforcement comes from 1680D Cordura Ballistic® nylon, PVC-coated on the reverse to further heighten strength and waterproofing. Premium North American steer leather is used for trims, waterproofed inside and out with 3M Scotchgard® treatment. This ensures long-lasting resistance to water and dirt, even when the leather is cut or abraded.
For comfort, the shoulder straps are fitted with master-piece’s original M-STRAP system, designed to reduce the strain of heavy loads. Outlast® temperature-regulating material, developed for NASA, is integrated into the mesh strap lining to maintain comfort between 31–33°C, absorbing excess body heat and releasing it when temperatures drop. A chest strap is included for additional stability.
Functionality is comprehensive: the main compartment opens wide, with internal gusset and mesh pockets for organisation, plus a padded sleeve that fits a MacBook Pro 16". The front and side zip pockets provide easy access, while carabiner loops and reflective woven tape at the base add safety and utility. The rear panel features an additional zip pocket and is compatible with suitcase carry bars, making this backpack equally suited to commuting, travel, and daily city use.

At that time, the concept of creating bags specifically for men was just beginning to take shape, and during this formative period, Master–Piece carved out its own unique identity and persona. In 2008, they made a visionary move to create their own manufacturing facility. This strategic decision enabled Master–Piece to navigate challenges that many producers in developed countries encounter, such as securing production capabilities and skilled labour. Their apprentice craftsmen now work alongside seasoned "master craftsmen" from earlier generations, ensuring that the knowledge and essence of "Made in Japan" continue to thrive and be transmitted to future generations.
Master-Piece is a brand dedicated to creating products that expertly blend style and practicality. Originating from Osaka, Master-Piece bags showcase the precision of Japanese craftsmanship with a focus on durability and style in every detail. Each bag is produced in their own factory, and is entirely made in Japan.
