Refined in form and steeped in tradition, this small matte teapot is a celebration of Japanese craftsmanship and minimal design—perfectly suited for a single, thoughtful cup. Handcrafted in Tokoname, Japan—one of the country’s oldest and most revered pottery regions—this teapot fuses artisanal techniques with modern design sensibility to deliver an elegant and sensory tea experience.
Fired with cobalt-infused clay, the pot has a soft matte finish that enhances both its visual and tactile appeal. The ceramic strainer, made from the same material as the teapot itself, preserves the purity of the tea’s flavour—avoiding any metallic interference found in traditional mesh filters. The strainer is uniquely designed with a flat, finely perforated plate that resists clogging while allowing for smooth pouring.
The lid undergoes a process known as “rubbing the lid,” ensuring a tight seal that prevents leaks and allows for precision pouring, right down to the final and most prized “golden” drop. The unglazed finish offers a natural feel that matures beautifully over time, complementing the subtle textures of high-quality loose-leaf tea.
