Each pair is handcrafted in Italy by Antonio and Michele Cappello using a single piece of premium vegetable-tanned Toscano Corteccia (brown) calf leather. This dense leather develops a rich patina over time, softening and gaining depth with every wear. Inside, full leather linings and an Italian “Cuoio” insole allow natural breathability, while the hand-milled beige Cristy outsole delivers dependable traction and durability. Built using Fracap’s signature military stitch construction, the W147 offers immediate comfort and long-lasting strength.
Every detail — from the burnished black eyelets, brown midsole and Piatto Natural welt to the round Mimoso brulee and rosso red laces — speaks to Fracap’s dedication to handmade precision and understated elegance. The original Magnifico was designed by Alfredo Cappello. He started with the idea of creating a durable, comfortable boot to be used both on the mountains and in everyday life. So he created a boot that mixes durable simplicity with extraordinary style. When his wife saw the final version of the boot she said: “magnifico”. That’s why Alfredo decided to name it Magnifico. ITALIAN QUALITY Fracap select only the best of Italian vegetable tanned calf leather. You’ll understand what we mean once you handle your own pair of boots. Each boot is made from one large piece of leather. Colours on screen can appear a little bit different from the real ones. HANDCRAFTED IN FRACAP Antonio and Michele Cappello handcrafted your boots. Irregularities are not flaws but part of the handmade process and that contribute to make Fracap shoes unique. Each boot is made from one large piece of leather. That’s why they still hand make their boots using the same mould as their father used before them. Michele and Antonio repeat this process everyday for each pair that leaves the factory. 100% made in Italy.
YOUR BOX You are going to receive a pair of Fracap boots with 2 pairs of different laces, the second one is Fracap's iconic pair of laces in red. Leather is used for the linings and italian “Cuoio” for the insole. Both are made exclusively of calf leather so that your feet can breathe naturally. The same mould that had been once designed for the italian army is still used. This is what gives Fracap boots unrivalled comfort while keeping the italian charm. The technique of stitching the top part of the boots to the midsole is used for military boots. It ensure strength and durability. Differently from others, this technique provides immediate comfort to your feet since the internal part of the boots is softer. Each outsole is milled by Antonio and Michele to give the boots their final shape . This is one of the most delicate steps in boots making which Antonio and Michele have developed over 40 years. This is why Fracap can still handcraft this process. Since outsoles are gloved to the midsole, the boots can easily be resoled whenever you need.
