Made in Japan from 100% cotton, the fabric uses a specialist rope-dyeing technique traditionally associated with denim production. The indigo-dyed yarns retain an undyed core, allowing the blue sections to fade naturally with wear and develop a distinctive patina. The coloured sections are treated with a special discharge-reactive dye, creating a fabric that gradually evolves in tone and character throughout its lifetime.
