Description

This Type 1 Selvedge Jacket is based on the WWII-era Battle Model denim jacket, carrying over the stripped-back, hard-wearing character of wartime workwear while avoiding overdone vintage styling. The silhouette is boxy and authentic to the period, giving it a strong, square-shouldered shape that feels true to the original but still easy to wear as a modern piece. It balances rugged heritage detailing with a cleaner, more considered finish, making it feel substantial without becoming costume-like.

It is made from newly developed 14oz Rocky selvedge denim in 100% cotton, using Cameroonian cotton for a fabric that combines durability with a more comfortable feel in wear. The denim retains the irregular, characterful nature associated with the Rocky fabric, while period-correct hardware including laurel steel buttons, unbranded copper rivets and a buckle with a fleur-de-lis emblem reinforce the wartime inspiration. Sizes above 40 also feature a back yoke for improved fit and structure, adding a subtle functional refinement to the original design.
