Description

The Naked & Famous Denim True Guy in Dia De Los Muertos Selvedge are a vibrant tribute to Mexico’s Day of the Dead tradition. Cut in the True Guy fit, they feature a high rise, comfortable room through the seat, hips and thighs, and a straight leg from thigh to hem for a relaxed straight silhouette with classic denim balance.

Woven in Okayama, Japan on vintage shuttle looms, the 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim is made from 100% Mexican upland cotton and uses rope-dyed short slub yarns for a textured surface that will develop dramatic vertical fades over time. A multicolour selvedge edge inspired by traditional Mexican sarape blankets, contrast stitching, silver metallic hardware, button fly and vegetable-tanned leather patch complete the jeans with distinctive cultural detail. The pocket flasher and patch artwork by Mexico City tattoo artist José Ruiz, also known as Koopa, depicts the bat as a symbol connected to Camazotz, the Mayan bat god, the afterlife, darkness and rebirth.
