Jean Store welcome our latest addition to our impressive denim line up : 3Sixteen.
Everything about the jean, from the cut to the buttons, rivets, leather patch, and stitch colour, was selected to demonstrate a level of lasting quality and versatility.
Founded over a decade ago, 3sixteen’s modern history starts in 2008 with their very first pair of jeans, the SL-100x. They worked directly with Kuroki Mills in Okayama, Japan to develop a custom denim designed to withstand hard wear and show incredible character along the way.
This guiding philosophy is evident in the pieces 3Sixteen have developed; their shirts, jackets, basics and accessories all take cues in form and function from their jeans.
Fabrics and trims are always chosen for their capacity to develop character with time. 3Sixteens fundamental aim is that, with diligent wear, customers are rewarded with something well aged, never “old.”
3Sixteen's company’s foundation is in its faith. Humility and integrity are equally important to them as quality and design. They also strive to cultivate strong relationships with the artists, craftsmen, and friends to whom they own their success.
3sixteen’s production has often seen them focus on a domestic story such as Japanese-produced fabrics combining with American craftsmanship.
To further expand on their denim collection, the brand’s latest effort, the Kibata Jean, is constructed from a 14oz. unsanforized denim (unwashed, shrink-to-fit). The denim’s namesake is in reference to the Japanese definition of untreated denim that’s left in its true loomstate.
This denim has been woven at low tension to give it a rough, abrasive hand that will yield beautiful fading results over time. 3Sixteen then give the jean a rinse to eliminate shrinkage and bring out the texture and character of the fabric even further.
