The Studio D'Artisan Kasane No Irome Denim Shirt applies the traditional Japanese concept of layered colour to a lighter-weight denim construction. Relaxed yet distinctly Japanese in expression, it combines slub texture with nuanced dye work for a shirt that will develop character beautifully with wear.

Crafted in Japan from 12oz slub natural denim, the fabric offers a softer hand while retaining depth and texture. The Kuro-Beni colour layers sumi ink over bengara dye to create a refined black with a subtle red undertone that gradually emerges through wear. Bengara, an iron oxide pigment taken from the earth, has been used since ancient times and has a long history in Japanese ceramics, lacquerware and natural dyeing.
