Shoes For Women at Jeanstore

Why Choose Dr. Martens Women’s Shoes?

Dr. Martens shoes carry many of the features associated with the brand’s boots but in a lower-cut design. Substantial leather uppers, grooved soles and visible welt stitching give them a recognisable finish, while lace-up, loafer and moc-toe constructions provide distinct choices.

Several styles in this collection are made at the original Dr. Martens factory in Northamptonshire. The Made in England 1461 and Adrian use traditional Goodyear-welted construction, joining the upper and sole with heat sealing and stitching rather than relying on adhesive alone.

Choosing Between the 1461, Adrian and Lowell

The 1461 is the original three-eye Dr. Martens shoe. Its uncomplicated Oxford design and smooth black Quilon leather make it a practical option for jeans, trousers and smarter casual clothing.

The Adrian is a slip-on loafer with double tassels and a fringed panel across the front. It has a dressier appearance than the 1461 while retaining the substantial Dr. Martens sole and visible welt stitching.

The Lowell takes its cues from moccasin and work shoes. It has four eyelets, prominent stitching around the toe, a padded collar and a more rugged tread. Black and olive Wild Grain leather provide a textured finish, while cherry red lacquered leather offers a glossier alternative.

Leather, Colour and Care

Black leather is the most understated choice and works across casual and smarter outfits. Olive gives the Lowell a stronger workwear character, while cherry red brings out the stitching and panelled construction of the shoe. The different finishes also change with wear: smooth and Quilon leathers develop creasing, while heavily grained leather already has a more textured surface.

Remove loose dirt with a soft cloth or brush and check the care guidance for the individual leather before applying polish or protector. Quilon leather can be wiped with a damp cloth and treated with neutral shoe polish. New leather footwear may initially feel firm, so begin with shorter periods of wear and allow the leather time to adjust to the foot.
