Levi's 578 Jeans.

Shop Levi’s 578 jeans for a loose, ’90s-inspired fit with plenty of room through the seat and thigh. These men’s baggy jeans have a straight leg and non-stretch denim, with dark rinse, blue, grey and overdyed finishes in the collection. Choose your wash, then check the available waist sizes and leg lengths.

Levi’s 578 Jeans: Fit, Sizing & Washes

The Levi’s 578 is designed for a deliberately baggy fit, with extra room through the upper leg and a wide, straight cut towards the hem. It’s worth considering if you find regular straight jeans too close-fitting or want more space through the seat and thighs. The four finishes shown here offer different takes on the same fit, from a dark rinse to more visibly washed denim.

How Do Levi’s 578 Jeans Fit?

The 578 sits at the waist and has a baggy fit through the seat and thigh. The straight leg keeps the lower half roomy too, rather than narrowing sharply towards the ankle. That makes the cut different from a tapered jean, even when both offer extra space through the thigh.

The denim is non-stretch, so choose a waist size that feels comfortable when sitting as well as standing. The roominess comes from the cut rather than elastic fibres. Check the individual product’s size guide and any garment measurements before choosing, especially if you’re moving from a slim or stretch fit.

Should You Size Up in Levi’s 578 Jeans?

You don’t need to size up simply to get a baggy leg—the 578 is already cut that way. Start with the size guide and your waist measurement. Choosing a larger waist will also change how securely the jeans sit and may let them drop lower than intended.

Pay attention to the inside-leg length as well. Extra length lets the denim gather over your shoes, as shown in several product photographs. If you prefer less fabric at the ankle, compare the available lengths with a pair you already own. Check the hem with the footwear you expect to wear so it doesn’t drag on the ground.

Choosing Your Levi’s 578 Wash

Good As New Rinse has a dark, relatively uniform appearance, while The Baggy Family offers a more visibly washed blue. Grey Nights provides an alternative to blue denim, and Long Drive Home OD has a brown-toned, overdyed finish. Compare the close-up photographs to see the differences around seams, pockets and creases.

A dark rinse works well with a white shirt or plain knitwear. Washed blue and grey pair easily with printed T-shirts, sweatshirts and denim jackets, while the brown-toned option suits cream, black and olive. The wash changes the appearance of the jeans without requiring a different leg shape.

Are Levi’s 578 Jeans for Men or Women?

Levi’s sells the 578 in its men’s range, using waist and inside-leg sizing. Anyone can wear the style, but shoppers moving from women’s jeans should compare measurements rather than use a fixed size conversion. Check the waist, seat and rise where measurements are available, since the proportions may differ from the jeans you normally wear.
