Kojima, located in Okayama Prefecture, is renowned worldwide as a premier denim production hub. It is here that MOMOTARO JEANS was established, celebrated for its distinctive deep indigo hue and unique texture known as "Tokuno Blue", achieved through a meticulous dyeing process.
These exceptional jeans embody the dedication and craftsmanship of the artisans who laid the groundwork for Japanese denim, showcasing an unwavering commitment to detail in dyeing, weaving, sewing, and material selection. Each pair, dyed in Tokuno Blue, captures the essence of your daily life, serving as a testament to your experiences.
The fabric emphasises the rich indigo colour and unique texture of "Tokuno Blue". To enhance the indigo tones of the warp threads, the denim structure has been refined, and a finer thread has been chosen for the weft. Despite the dark colouration, the core's whiteness is preserved, allowing for a striking contrast between light and shadow.
The 'Classic' styles feature a onewash finish and GTB stripes to the rear pocket.
#200 is a slim tapered fit model. The thighs are slightly relaxed, but the tapered fit from the knees onwards creates a tight silhouette that is comfortable to wear. The rise is slightly shallow. These jeans are timeless and universal, made possible by adopting a pattern that pursues a beautiful silhouette and comfortable fit.
This model includes a button fly, with buttons and rivets adorned with a peach motif, a signature of Momotaro Jeans. The cowhide leather patch has also been updated to a fresh design.
The distinctive elements that reflect the brand's identity include Momotaro Jeans original copper punched rivets, hidden rivets on the back of the hip pockets, and the lining, all adding to the charm of this exceptional pair of jeans.

Originally the denim cloth used to make jeans was produced on shuttle looms. These produced a tightly woven cloth by passing a continuous thread backwards and forwards. The resulting fabric was narrow and had finished edges or self-edges, hence the term selvedge. This fabric was relatively costly and slow to produce as were the jeans fashioned from it. When the demand for jeans rose dramatically in the latter half of the 20th century production methods were inevitably altered to create cheaper fabrics that could be produced in higher volumes. Shuttle looms were abandoned in favour of projectile looms which were quicker, which produced wider cloth and which did not use continuous threads. Denim now had unfinished edges with a frayed appearance.
