Description
Master–Piece was established in 1994 based on the principle of "Made in Japan". At that time, the concept of creating bags specifically for men was just beginning to take shape, and during this formative period, Master–Piece carved out its own unique identity and persona. In 2008, they made a visionary move to create their own manufacturing facility. This strategic decision enabled Master–Piece to navigate challenges that many producers in developed countries encounter, such as securing production capabilities and skilled labour. Their apprentice craftsmen now work alongside seasoned "master craftsmen" from earlier generations, ensuring that the knowledge and essence of "Made in Japan" continue to thrive and be transmitted to future generations.
The main body is constructed from CORDURA® brand fabric, consisting of two 210d 66 nylon threads twisted and woven both vertically and horizontally to create MASTERTEX–07, an exclusive material known for its outstanding durability and strength.
The fabric's front is water-repellent, while the back features a special breathable waterproof L–Vent® film. The three-layer design, bonded with tricot nylon, provides waterproof capabilities with a water pressure resistance of 20,000 mm. The original fabrics MASTERTEX–04, 05, and 06 are incorporated throughout the series.
Additionally, the backpack includes waterproof tanned leather, with the base made from INVISTA’s 1680D Cordura Varistec® nylon, which boasts approximately five times the wear and tear resistance of standard nylon. PVC treatment on the rear side enhances both strength and waterproof qualities.
The shoulder harness features a unique mechanism called “M-strap” that alleviates the weight of the load. Cushioned areas that contact the body utilise Outlast®, a temperature-regulating material developed for NASA. The buckle, a key design feature of the series, showcases a new, higher strength design.
As the flagship series of Master–Piece, Potential includes several functional updates regarding materials and storage, specifically designed for urban environments.
