Description
The Fox Cotton Work Shirt is a sturdy work shirt with the character of a light overshirt, thanks to its substantial fabric and clean, practical design. It carries the straightforward appeal of classic utility shirting, but with a more distinctive material story behind it. Easy to wear on its own or layered as a light outer piece, it has a simple, versatile shape that suits everyday use.
It is made from 12oz fox cotton twill, a rare organic cotton grown without pesticides or genetically modified organisms. Developed from naturally coloured cotton varieties revived by Sally Fox, the fibre does not require dyeing, allowing the natural earth tones of the cotton to remain visible while reducing environmental impact. The fibre structure contains microscopic air pockets, giving the fabric quick-drying properties, heat retention and UV protection, while also keeping it notably soft and comfortable against the skin. Natural nut buttons complete the construction and add to the shirt’s understated, workwear-inspired finish.

Features
Studio D'Artisan.
This is where is all began. The first of the legendary 'Osaka 5', Studio D'Artisan was founded in 1979 by Shigeharu Tagaki, a designer who had been learning his trade in France. Inspired by French workwear and especially the American jeans craze sweeping Japan in the late sixties and early seventies, Tagaki started reproducing vintage denim on old Toyada G-3 shuttle loom. Disappointed with the poor quality of mass-produced jeans which flooded the market in the 1980s, the company were soon making original denim goods, utilizing designs and productions techniques from the golden age of jeans.
It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that the company was one of the prime reasons for the explosion of interest in Japanese denim in the late nineties and early aughts. In fact, SDA claim that their flagship model 'DO-1' was the first raw selvedge jean produced, making it the granddaddy of Japanese quality denim.
