Description

Studio D’Artisan’s 8173 Suvin Gold T-Shirt is a refined cotton tee built around one of the world’s rarest and most highly regarded extra-long staple cottons. Designed with a smaller fit compared with typical loopwheel T-shirts, it offers a close, clean shape while putting the focus firmly on the exceptional softness, lustre and texture of the fabric.

Made in Japan from Suvin Gold cotton, the fabric uses the first-generation cross between Sujata cotton from India and Sea Island cotton from St. Vincent. Grown exclusively in Tamil Nadu, southern India, Suvin Gold is produced in very limited quantities, with only around 1,500 to 2,000 bales made each year. Its extremely fine, long fibres and natural wax and oil content give the jersey a silky lustre, smooth drape and soft, supple hand that remains comfortable even after repeated washing. Knitted on a circular knitting machine, the T-shirt allows the natural character of the cotton to be felt directly against the skin.
