Description
This casual long-sleeve button-up shirt for men is crafted in Japan by Studio D'Artisan (SDA). Drawing inspiration from vintage workwear, it combines traditional design elements with heavyweight cotton plaid flannel fabric. This shirt merges nostalgic charm with the craftsmanship of Studio D'Artisan, resulting in a classic look, premium materials, modern durability, and a relaxed yet fashionable style. Constructed from sturdy plaid fabric made from 100% cotton thick yarn, the shirt boasts a rugged appearance with minimal brushing on the outer side, while the inner side is brushed for added warmth and softness. To reduce shrinkage and achieve a slightly worn-in look, the shirt goes through a pre-wash treatment (also known as one-wash). It features a button-down front, a regular collar with a collar band, single-button cuffs with a cuff slit, set-in sleeves, two chest pockets with button closures (without flaps), a subtly curved back yoke, and a rounded shirttail with side gussets.

Studio D'Artisan.
This is where is all began. The first of the legendary 'Osaka 5', Studio D'Artisan was founded in 1979 by Shigeharu Tagaki, a designer who had been learning his trade in France. Inspired by French workwear and especially the American jeans craze sweeping Japan in the late sixties and early seventies, Tagaki started reproducing vintage denim on old Toyada G-3 shuttle loom. Disappointed with the poor quality of mass-produced jeans which flooded the market in the 1980s, the company were soon making original denim goods, utilizing designs and productions techniques from the golden age of jeans.
It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that the company was one of the prime reasons for the explosion of interest in Japanese denim in the late nineties and early aughts. In fact, SDA claim that their flagship model 'DO-1' was the first raw selvedge jean produced, making it the granddaddy of Japanese quality denim.
