Authentic reproduction of the original 1919 Thespians ballcap. Featured here in a robust cotton twill.
Ebbet’s research turned up a fundraising game played at the Polo Grounds in 1919 between the Actors and the Songwriters. The Thespians defeated the Songwriters and raised $15,000 for their charity. One hundred boxes at $100 each were sold to notable New Yorkers such as Henry Morgenthaul and Yankees owner Jacob Ruppert. The Police Glee Club, Hebrew Orphan Asylum band, and many Vaudeville entertainers also appeared at the event.

Co-founder Jerry Cohen grew up in Brooklyn, not far from where the fabled stadium once stood in Flatbush. Jerry listened to his father tell stories of the colourful players of another era. He was proud of the fiercely independent neighborhood. And the Brooklyn Dodgers' heritage as the first major league team to integrate professional baseball in 1947, with the addition of Hall-of-Famer Jackie Robinson.
