Description

The classic polo shirt, made in cotton piqué in a regular fit. Trimmed with twin tipping at the collar and button placket.

Cotton piqué / Regular fit / Twin tipped collar and placket / Concealed two button placket

The twin tipped polo shirt was the first piece to carry tipping in the 5-4-4 ratio. Legend has it, a buyer from Lillywhites requested the addition of football team colours to Freds plain-colour shirt. A bold take on the signature detail, this polo shirt has asymmetrical tipping at the placket. The Fred Perry polo – dialled up a notch.

Fred Perry.

Triple Wimbledon champion Fred Perry was born to a cotton spinner. He played and fought his way through, always with style and despite the establishment. In 1952, he founded the Fred Perry brand, designing his first pique shirt the same year.

That shirt, the shirt, would transcend sportswear to streetwear on the backs of generation after generation of British youth subcultures. The shirt is the start and end of everything Fred Perry do, because it’s more than a shirt – it’s a rite of passage, it’s the uniform of the non-uniform. A true icon.
